Helsingborg, Sweden

We arrived in Helsingborg, a town that we knew little about, and were pleasantly surprised. First, the heart of the town faces the water and the West. And...we found that our budget hotel was actually a really nice Best Western right in the center of town and just next to the steps leading up to the old castle. Amblen insisted that we climb up to the top immediately. We're glad we did as the view of the sunset was fantastic.

We walked around the harbor a bit then stopped at a little seafood restaurant right on the wharf. We were also pleasantly surprised to learn that Amblen, who has been eating like a horse lately, really really really likes Swedish fish sticks.

The next morning Amblen insisted that we climb up top of the castle again. Luckily the castle was open and we could climb all the way to the very top (246 stairs...I counted). It was worth the view.

Afterwards we took a ferry across the sound to Denmark. Amblen was really excited to watch all the busses, cars and trucks drive on.

We arrived in Helsingor Denmark to visit the Kronborg castle which is the one and only Elsinore from Shakespeare's Hamlet. We were lucky to have another perfect day and the castle was beautiful. Ben was so inspired by the experience that he bought a copy of Hamlet and reread it.
