Lee and Melissa

These world travelers arrived in Stockholm and we embarked on a week-long escapade of exploration, photography, beer tasting, and fun.

































































It just so happened that Lee and Melissa came in during the Valborgsmässoafton holiday, which is huge over here. It is kind of a welcome-in party for Spring after the long cold winter. We headed to Upsalla to see how the college kids did things. There were beers and champagne flowing at about 9am when we arrived. The canal in the center of town hosted a styrofoam boat race in which not all of the contestants finished.












































Then back to Stockholm for a picnic with the neighbors.
















Everyone piles up their Christmas tree and the piles eventually become gigantic bonfires. I took this picture in February as the pile started growing.
















Then they give the kids a bunch of torches and the needles blaze.
